design-is-essential-to-better

Some talents show that design is essential to better understand the world around us

The Istituto Europeo di Design is celebrating its 25th anniversary with buildings in Madrid and Barcelona that promote, spread and develop the cultural life therein.
The IED’s mission over time has been to revolutionize design itself without leaving aside its original characteristics: solving the problems and needs of everyday life while battling its ugliness. As it is known, design is linked with the interaction of disciplines such as architecture, science, innovative technologies and of course, art.

IED in Spain is recognized for its unparalleled talents: in a quarter of a century, it has trained designers such as Moises Nieto or Maria Ke Fisherman, photographers such as Andrea Savall or artisans such as Guille Garcia-Hoz and Jose Hurtado.

Recognized for its plausible innovative methodologies, the institute stands out from others because of a concept they call design thinking. With this method of learning, they allow their students to learn skills that will accompany them throughout their professional life, adapting to a constantly changing world.

Among its most recent and most innovative projects is the Deflexor 2033, a map created by Alessandro Manetti, CEO of IED Spain. This map is able to identify the possible trends that will be standouts in the next 15 years, with the aim of analyzing our near future and looking for innovative solutions for it.
