The WELL certification focuses on the health and the welfare of people in shared spaces
Before we begin with the celebrations of the most recent achievement Actiu has attained, there’s a question we must answer: What’s the WELL Certification about, and why is it so worthy of celebration?.
WELL is an evaluation system for the features of built spaces and their influence on the health of their occupants. To be more specific, it’s a certification backed by the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) which values concepts such as lighting, temperature, and even the state of mind of a building’s residents.
WELL takes into account 10 concepts: air, water, food, lighting, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind, and community. Each concept makes reference to different aspects of health and well-being.
As such, we now share with Actiu the joy of being worthy of the Well V2 certification. Its Actiu Technology Park (Corporate Headquarters) has become the fifth complex in the world to receive this important recognition, as well as the first industrial building in the world in achieving such certifications as Leed and Well Platino, thus confirming the headquarters as a healthy space that ensures the wellbeing of its people.
These two achievements show that perseverance and responsibility are always rewarded if they are accomplished in pursuit of doing good. Since its start, Actiu’s philosophy has been based on the design and equipment of environmentally responsible, sustainable and healthy work environments.
