Day by day, employee welfare becomes a priority in companies

Taking a nap in the workplace has always been considered taboo by companies big and small. Why so much fuss about it? Well, it is most likely because sleeping in working hours, since the beginning of time, has been considered an example of laziness and low productivity. These are two things that no boss would want to have in his business.

The truth is that it’s not about making the workplace a spa to relax in after a bad night. However, it is true that today’s workdays are more demanding and absorbing, so a place to rest your eyes for about 10 minutes would not hurt the health of our dear employees.


Multiple neuroscientific studies have shown that many of the productivity failures that occur in these times are connected to a frantic lifestyle that makes individuals constantly stressed. It’s not enough to simply sit people in front of a desk for 8 to 12 hours a day telling them that work and personal life shouldn’t mix

Finding a balance between mental health and work efficiency is now an inescapable reality.

While in an ideal world all companies would have special nap rooms, the truth is that it is not as easy as just finding the perfect beds. For owners and managers, creating rest areas of this type is more a challenge than a benefit, either because of the investment in furniture or because of the establishment of sleep schedules for each employee. No, not everything is as easy as it seems.

Certainly, not many would look badly at nap rooms in companies. But, if it’s already difficult to achieve harmony in the dining rooms, sleeping hours would be nightmarish. No pun intended.

Be that as it may, it is already an undeniable reality that naps make workers less frustrated and irritable. If Albert Einstein found a balance between study and nap time, there is no doubt that we can all do it.
